Photo Tips

Photo Tips:

While many family photos of your pets remind us of a favorite activity, mischievous moments or a playful nature, a portrait requires particular attention to several import design elements. The portrait's overall composition may be either formal or informal, incorporating studio color backgrounds or perhaps limited, natural scenery.

A head shot or body portrait may best depict your pet's demeanor. Your pet's natural posture and facial expressions may vary according to the mood or activity they were in when the photo was taken.

Proper lighting is also important when composing a photograph so that your pet's natural colors and highlights are accurately portrayed. This is particularly important to those pets with naturally dark eyes and coats. occasionally a candid shot  may capture all of these features and more, lending itself to an exceptional portrait study.

Please give a physical description, eye color, fur color and markings, as well as personality traits. Sometimes photos are not accurate in their color.

  • I recommend taking photos of your pets outdoors. The light is more natural and will not wash out the color and definition like a flash indoors
  • Try to get a shot of your pet that shows his features clearly, especially the eyes. It helps to take the photo from eye level
  • Take many more shots that you think you will need
